Friday and Saturday night opened the OHSAA Football Playoffs. The MVAC had a strong representation during the weekend with many of our teams advancing in the playoffs.
The Scarlet tier had three teams that earned a bye in week 7. Springfield, McDonald and Jackson Milton had the bye this past weekend. Mineral Ridge, Western Reserve, and Lowellville advanced in the playoffs with key wins against Wellington, Columbiana, and Valley Christian.
In the the Gray tier, Brookfield and LaBrae advanced to play each other next week. LaBrae downed Cardinal while the Warriors defeated Oberlin. Crestview and Garfield earned a bye for week 7. The Rebels will host Southeast while Garfield will host Youngstown Cardinal Mooney.
In non playoff games, Sebring McKinley downed Mathews 48-20 to earn their 2nd win. Waterloo earned its first win of the season with a victory over Windham 28-6.
